Concord College is a highly academic international college situated to the South East of Shrewsbury. The Common Room is an outstanding Architectural Building which is a key asset and centre point for student life at the College. Working alongside the Design Team and the Client the New Common Room was constructed within an existing walled garden. The project value was £1.0 million with a contract period of 34 weeks. The construction was a 2 storey steel framed building, floor area of 740 square metres, pre cast concrete floor with a mono pitch Kalzip and Sedum Green Roof. The curved front elevation has full height curtain wall with tinted black glass. The internal space was designed and constructed to give the college a very relaxing and modern environment for the students with Hi-Tec active audio and visual equipment. The landscaped gardens to the front include an amphitheatre and external lighting where external dramatic and theatrical events can be staged. |
