The New Primary School was built on a Greenfield site on the edge of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant. The construction provided 4 new classrooms, library, offices, acoustic music rooms, kitchen and hall covering a total area of 850 square metres. Externally there are netball courts, playgrounds and soft landscaping covering a total area of 2500m2. On site car parking for 52 cars is provided. The construction was concrete floor, timber frame walls and timber trussed roof together with aluminium windows and curtain wall. The main hall is a portal frame using Lami Beams and Frames. The building has photo voltaic cells and solar panels on the roof to provide hot water together with two automatic pellet feed wood boilers. Drainage attenuation is installed under car park and hard landscaped areas and recycled to serve toilets within the School. |
