Great Oak Business Park is located to the West of Llanidloes in Mid Wales. The project comprised of the construction of 3 No Industrial and 2 No Office Buildings together with associated roads, drainage and hard landscaping works. In total the project offered 1200 square metres of Office space and 1350 square metres of Industrial space. The project value was £2.90 million with a contract period of 50 weeks. The construction of the units was single storey steel frame, cast in situ concrete floors, timber trussed roof to Offices and steel lined roof to Industrial units covered with Welsh slate. Wall construction was timber framed panels filled with warmcell insulation clad in larch timber boarding. External windows and doors were timber to both Industrial and Office Units. Industrial Units are sub divided and each unit has access through a 4 x 5 metre Roller Shutter Door. Externally the hard surfacing is permeable paving with water attenuation systems installed under. Ground Source Heat Pumps and Solar Panels are installed to provide heating and hot water. The units were built to a high specification with all materials being responsibly sourced. From the outset the project was set to achieve “Very Good” ratings in the BREEAM Guide. After completion Unit 5 and 8 received an “Excellent” rating. Both of these units have further received BREEAM “Offices” Award for Wales 2008 and BREEAM “Industrial” Award for Wales 2009. |
