The new Library and Museum Resources Centre was constructed within the South Shropshire market town of Ludlow in 2001. The project offered over 600 square metres of Library space and 2400 square metres of Museum space together with 5000 square metres of car parking. The project value was £4.40 million and the contract period was 70 weeks.

The construction of the Library was steel frame, in situ concrete floors, flitch timber beams supporting timber rafters, roof covered in zinc sheeting. Curtain walling installed at high level around the façade of the building. Internally fitted out and finished to produce a modern and unique public facility.

The construction of the Museum was steel frame and cast in situ concrete floors and walls. The roof was timber rafters on steel frame covered with zinc sheeting. Curtain walling filled the entire North East Elevation of the Museum presenting a white wall of glass. Linking the two buildings, the main entrance comprised of similar structure together with structural glass entrance way.

The unique steel frame roof supports and situ cast concrete floors, lift walls and stair cases form a striking part of the buildings structure that makes it an outstanding Architectural and Structural Building.
