A £2m development comprising animal care, horticulture and teaching accommodation for a tertiary education college specialising in land-based studies.

The building forms a central glass drum with 2 wings of teaching and animal care accommodation to the east and west, including facilities for veterinary nurse training and domestic animal care.

The centre explores numerous green technologies; energy conservation systems include photovoltaic panels, wind turbine generator, ground source heat-pump and biomass boiler.

The southern elevation has a continuous shading canopy opening onto the outdoor animal compounds. A boardwalk overlooks a wildfowl pond, monkey-island, aviaries, birds of prey, meerkat and llama enclosures.
