The Health Centre is a two storey building located off Y Lon Las [Green Lane] from the High Street [A5] in Corwen, LL23 7BA. The enabling works consist of installation of new permanent electric supply, ground works and other services connections to enable the installation of a modular unit as a temporary health centre facility.
The main work involves re configuring most internal spaces and the construction of two single storey extensions to either side of the existing building to provide additional consulting rooms, treatment room and dental surgeries. Because of the extensive nature of the project, the Family Practice relocated to adjacent temporary accommodation during the works and the
Principal Contractor had sole occupation of the site.
The extensions are in rendered cavity wall construction with mono pitched and flat roofs, pot and beam suspended floor and load bearing block work and metal stud partitions. Radon protection was also required. The internal alterations required removing existing partitions, infilling door and window openings with cavity wall construction, forming new door openings, new partitions, new reception desk and other fittings, new clinical, consulting and staff rooms, waiting areas and kitchenette and WC facilities, and alterations to existing and new mechanical and electrical installations.
