The project was a complete refurbishment and upgrade of a two storey block of six flats including all communal and external areas. We had to initially completely strip off the existing tiled roof, fit a new membrane and retile. During this process the existing roof timbers were found to be in poor alignment and poor condition, we had to introduce extra strengthening timbers bolted to existing rafters.

The flats were completely stripped out including internal partition walls. All external and internal walls and ceilings were lined with resilient bars, insulation and soundbloc plaster board to prevent noise transfer between flats. A new double thickness partition wall was built to form a new sound resistant party wall to the adjoining property.

A new hot water and heating system was designed by Pave-Aways, incorporating solar panels fitted on the roof to each dwelling to provide hot water to each property. New kitchens and bathrooms were fitted by the Severnside Housing direct works department, and we completed the works by fitting non slip flooring to the wet areas.

Externally we formed a safe enclosed garden area with a drying area for each property along with an enclosed bin store.
