Investing in people and their development is, we believe, one of the secrets of a successful business.
At Pave Aways our training ranges from apprenticeships to everything from manual handling and health and safety for our site workers.
As well as this, we have a comprehensive programme for our office staff including first aid, project management and other continuing professional development opportunities.
Quantity Surveyor Ben Jones is one member of our team who is currently working towards gaining membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, which represents professionals in the land, property and construction sector.
This follows on from the MSc in Quantity Surveying that Ben gained from Birmingham City University last November. He combined part-time study for the post-graduate qualification with his work at Pave Aways.
To become a RICS member, Ben has to undertake a programme of Assessment of Professional Competence training. One requirement is his mentor is RICS qualified and our Business Development Director Paul Moran – an experienced chartered surveyor – is overseeing Ben’s training.
Paul said: “Our people are our most important asset and we know that supporting them to improve and expand their professional skills will ultimately benefit our business, creating a stable and skilled workforce that will underpin the growth of Pave Aways.
“Personally it is very rewarding to be able to share my experience and guide Ben as he learns. We’re always keen for our team to explore opportunities for CPD and will support them however we can.”
