Live – Helsby High School
Existing portacabins are to be demolished and a new four-classroom block is to be built at Helsby High School, with the building work expected to be complete by summer 2024. This scheme will provide modern classroom facilities for up to 120 pupils.
January – Start date: 15th January.
February – The tarmac hard surfacing has been removed and works to the reduce level dig and stone up. Drainage works complete, and the foundations have been dug and cast.
March – The steel frame is installed and roof timber works progressing. The existing concrete slab is being broken out with column encasement complete. Sub-structure brickwork is complete, ready for prep and case of the concrete floor slab.
April – Scaffold installed to commence roof works and brickwork has started.
May – Screeding works are complete and masonry works continuing. Over the next few weeks, we will see internal partitions being installed, windows and doors put in and 1st fix M&E being completed. Roof works are complete, along with fall protection handrails installed.
