Construction Project of the Year award

We are delighted that a recent Pave Aways project – a state of the art service centre for OMICRON Electronics UK Limited in Stafford – has been shortlisted in the Construction Project of the Year category in the West Midlands Property Awards.

This year’s awards have attracted some high profile schemes and national names and we’re the only Shropshire based construction firm to be in the running for a gong.

Pave Aways managed the entire build from service connections to external works. The contract (value of £1.47m) included contractor’s design so we were responsible for the design and interface of the mechanical and electrical installations and the steelwork, cladding and roofing.

The two-storey building at Redhill Business Park houses OMICRON’s Academy, which serves as a technical, training and sales centre for staff from electrical utilities, industrial plants, equipment manufacturers and service companies.

The contemporary steel frame building covers 750m2 and was clad in a mixture of light weight cladding, polycarbonate rainscreen, timber and brickwork panels, with a metal clad pitched roof.

It’s an eyecatching building and one we’re very proud to have delivered. Watch this space to find out how we get on at the awards on November 1.
