Government lockdown statement

A statement from Managing Director Steven Owen.

It was a tough decision I have taken over the last 24 hours to close our doors to look after not only our employees, our supply chain and our sub contractors but our loved ones and the people we work and live with.

The Government lockdown advice was ambiguous in relation to continuing operations on construction sites but our view is that the health and welfare of our employees and associated people is absolutely paramount.

As a locally based contractor I feel that we should set standards not only across our construction activities but morally when times are tough. And times are certainly none tougher than what we are seeing now.

Pave Aways is my heartbeat and the passion that I have for it is immense. I feel so sad for those who may struggle to get by but we will be here to support them and to help them. I know it was the right decision to make and my only regret is that we did not make it on Friday (March 20).

As such, all our sites have closed and our head office has shut down until we are able to reopen safely. If you have any queries, please contact me on 01691 682111 or info@paveaways.co.uk.

These are extraordinary times that have called for extraordinary measures. We have a dedicated team and supply chain and truly appreciate their resilience in these unprecedented circumstances. Once the country emerges from this crisis, we look forward to restarting work as normal and building a positive future for us all.
