Joe builds a positive future

Congratulations to our apprentice site manager Joe Harrison, who has been awarded an HNC (Higher National Certificate) in construction and the built environment.

Joe, who only joined Pave Aways in January, gained the qualification as part of his construction site supervisor (Level 4) apprenticeship that he is studying for part-time at the Shrewsbury Colleges Group.

We spotted Joe’s passion for construction when he originally joined us for work experience. Since January, he has been gaining experience working on live sites and has been closely supported and mentored by one of our experienced site managers, Tom Ford.

As well as his work and studies, he’s also signed up for a part-time carpentry course at Shrewsbury Colleges Group in his spare time to further his knowledge of the trade.

Managing Director Steven Owen said: “In the short time that Joe has been with Pave Aways, he has proved himself to be a brilliant member of the team.

“He has a genuine enthusiasm for construction and that shines through in his commitment to his work and study. Joe is a shining example of how apprenticeships can be a great route into the industry and lay the groundwork for a very positive future.”
