Sunrise hike will raise funds for special charity

A team from Pave Aways will be heading for the hills and hoping to catch a very special sunrise for their latest charity fundraising event next month.

Sunrise On The Hills Of Snowdonia In Spring

The company is staging a sunrise hike up Wales’ highest peak, Yr Wyddfa, on September 9 to raise cash for West Mercia Search & Rescue (WMSR).

Team members will set off in darkness at 3am and aim to complete the 1,085-metre climb to be at the summit in time to watch the sunrise.

It’s part of a year of fundraising activity for WMSR, which was selected as the company’s charity of the year by staff.

WMSR is a volunteer-led charity which provides vital search and rescue operations in challenging terrains and adverse conditions.

The funds raised from this charity-sponsored walk will directly contribute to the charity’s ongoing efforts to improve their equipment, training and resources, enhancing their capacity to save lives and safeguard the community.

Sarah Jones, Pave Aways marketing co-ordinator, said: “No donation is too small, every bit of funding raised will go to support the operations of this fantastic charity. With your support, the team of skilled volunteers can enhance their capabilities and be even better equipped to save lives.”
