Pave Aways recognised for training and development – at the double!

Hot on the heels of winning the People Development Powys Business award, we are delighted that Pave Aways has been recognised with another award for the way we train our staff.

We have been chosen as Employer of the Month by the NPTC Group of Colleges, with whom we work closely.

Training manager Michelle Benjamin said: “Over the past few years we have built a good relationship with the college. Karen Harris-Vernon, the business engagement advisor, has been extremely helpful in guiding us through the application for the PLA funding that we received. The training has enabled us to upskill our staff in some of the areas identified in our training plan, including mental health awareness, fire door awareness and installation.”

Karen added: “I have been working with Michelle since early 2020 and, in that time, she has driven a programme of ongoing training and development within the organisation which has seen large numbers of their team become skilled in several different areas.”

“The work Pave Aways do in the wider community in the Marches area (Powys/Shropshire) with charities, schools and getting people into employment has been recognised and they are award winners for several of their building projects.

“On these they have often collaborated with other local businesses and service providers to ensure that local people with the right skills work on their projects and have signposted some of these to NPTC for training themselves.

“Pave Aways are always looking to develop the individual as well as the overall business and it’s very pleasing that NPTC is playing an important part in this.”
