Our team are proud to have completed the new Cats Protection adoption centre at Clyst Honiton in Exeter.
The Axhayes Centre is a brand new flagship adoption facility boasting 66 pens, including 12 maternity and five specialist isolation areas for the 750 cats who come through the centre’s doors each year.
We’ve also created new and improved working spaces for volunteers and staff and a fantastic landscaped garden area which the cats can view from their pens and which will provide a restful area for visitors, staff and volunteers.
Catherine Hodson, lead construction manager at Cats Protection, said:
“The delivery of this project by Pave Aways means so much to Cats Protection and we can’t wait to help many cats with our impressive new facilities. The Adoption Centre looks absolutely fantastic and we are very grateful to everyone involved.”
Construction director Jamie Evans said the company was pleased to build on its previous work with the Cats Protection charity.
“Following the successful completion of the Wrexham rehoming centre in 2019 we were delighted to have been chosen to create this fantastic facility in Exeter.
“We have a long-term relationship with the Cats Protection charity and are delighted they are so pleased with the finished building.
“The Axhayes adoption centre is a real trailblazer and hopefully because of the improved adopter experience, better accessibility and extra car parking, more cats will be spending less time in care and be able to move onto their new homes even more quickly.”
The centre draws its inspiration from local architecture featuring stone walls, a slate roof and expressed columns.
