A BIG welcome to our new apprentices!

A big welcome to four new apprentices who are starting their journey with us today.

From left to right, Joseph Greig, Nyle Bennett and Arrun Gupta have each taken up a Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative apprenticeship with SBC Training. Their course will see them gain a wide range of trade skills – from carpentry and plumbing to plastering, painting and carrying out minor repairs – equipping them with the knowledge to keep buildings safe, efficient and well maintained.

Joining them is Luca Evans-Frater, who has begun a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship with Shrewsbury Colleges Group. His training will focus on skilled work with timber, both on site and in the workshop, creating and installing high-quality building components.

All four joined us in August to get a head start and meet the team, and today marks the official beginning of their apprenticeship journey. We look forward to supporting them every step of the way as they grow and develop their skills in construction.

At Pave Aways, we believe in growing our own – in every sense. Apprenticeships are central to shaping our future, our workforce, and our legacy. More than 30% of our current team began their careers with us as apprentices, and their contribution demonstrates how apprenticeships are woven into the fabric of our culture from top to bottom.

Pave Aways won the Medium Apprentice Employer of the Year Award at last year’s Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards (STWAA). We’re very proud not only sponsor the Construction Apprentice category again this year, but to be shortlisted once again! A true reflection of our ongoing dedication to nurturing the next generation of construction talent.

Apprenticeships are the foundation for building our future together, helping us shape not just our business but the future of the industry across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
