Pave Aways has been named Medium Employer of the Year for the second year running at the Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards 2025!
The annual awards, held on 2nd October, celebrate the exceptional achievements of apprentices, employers, and training providers across the region. The event shines a spotlight on the people and organisations that are helping to shape the future of skills and employment in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin – and we were incredibly proud to be part of it.
Alongside our award win, we were also pleased to sponsor the Construction Apprentice of the Year category, recognising the incredible young talent entering our industry. The award was presented on the night by our Commercial Director, Victoria Lawson, to Honor Davies of SJ Roberts. Victoria began her own career journey in the construction sector through hands-on learning and mentorship, a perfect reflection of the apprenticeship ethos we champion at Pave Aways.

For us, apprenticeships are more than a route into construction, they’re the foundation of our success and a vital part of our company culture. Over 30% of our current team started their careers with Pave Aways as apprentices, including many who have gone on to take up senior and leadership roles within the business.
We’ve always believed in “growing our own”, nurturing local talent, investing in training and development, and creating lasting career opportunities within our communities. Apprenticeships are key to bridging the skills gap, strengthening our workforce, and empowering people to build brilliant careers right here in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

Our Managing Director, Steven Owen, said:
We’re incredibly proud to receive this award again. Apprenticeships are woven into the fabric of Pave Aways, and this recognition is a testament to the dedication of our team and the fantastic apprentices who have helped shape our business.
Seeing so many inspiring apprenticeship stories at the awards evening was a reminder of how vital this pathway is, not just for individuals, but for the strength and future of our entire industry and the region.
We’d like to extend our congratulations to all of this year’s winners and finalists, and a special thank you to the organisers for hosting such a brilliant evening celebrating skills, growth, and opportunity.
