Supporting Future Talent at the Telford Skills Show

The team have had a busy day at the heart of this year’s Telford Skills Show, engaging with over 3,000 pupils from across the borough and wider region. The event brought together a wide range of local and national employers, colleges, and training providers, all committed to showcasing future career opportunities.

Positioned right in the middle of the exhibition hall, the Pave-Aways team spent the day speaking with students, parents, and jobseekers about the wide range of career pathways available within the construction industry. In partnership with Shrewsbury College and SBC Training, the team highlighted the value of apprenticeships as a practical and rewarding route into the sector.

Throughout the day, visitors had the opportunity to learn more about different roles in construction, from site-based trades to professional and technical careers. The team shared first-hand insight into what it’s like to work in the industry, the skills required, and the progression opportunities available.

Events like the Telford Skills Show, lead by ‘The Job Box’ by Telford & Wrekin Council play a vital role in connecting employers with the next generation of talent. By engaging directly with young people and those considering a career change, Pave-Aways continues to support the development of a skilled, sustainable workforce for the future.

With team members rotating throughout the day, visitors were able to meet a variety of professionals from across the business, each offering their own perspective and experience of working in construction.

Pave-Aways remains committed to promoting construction as an exciting and accessible career choice, and to working in partnership with education and training providers to help build the workforce of tomorrow.
