New look for Academy’s campus

A specialist academy school in Shrewsbury has unveiled a contemporary new look to its main entrance – built by Pave Aways!

Severndale Specialist Academy, which provides education for children and young people aged two to 19, has revamped the main gateway to its Monkmoor campus in Woodcote Way to ensure it is accessible to everyone who uses the building.

The work reflects the academy’s rebranding that took place in 2017 to reflect the values and ethos of the school.

An eye catching gabion wall that was filled with stones, some of which have been hand decorated by the students, leads into the new reception space and the interior features a bespoke balustrade commissioned from the Oswestry based British Ironworks to keep materials used as local as possible.

Principal Sabrina Hobbs said the new space was designed to match the school’s visionary branding and outlook to providing first class education.

“The new entrance reflects our philosophy of welcoming the community into the Severndale family which is very important to the academy. We are delighted with the completed project and it has already received very positive feedback from users.”

We have a long-term relationship with the academy, having completed projects worth £1.5M over the last 15 years including constructing its Futures building on the London Road campus of Shrewsbury College.

Managing Director Steven Owen: “We always work closely with the team at Severndale to deliver their very clear vision for the growth and development of the academy.

“Our extensive experience in the education sector allows us to deliver projects on time and on budget whilst allowing daily school life to continue with minimum interruption. We are delighted that the academy is so pleased with the finished space.”

We are also the main sponsor of the academy’s annual entry in the Shrewsbury Flower Show prize garden competition and supply the materials, expertise and manpower to create its show garden every year.
