School investment programmes underpin sustained growth

We have solidified our position as a leader in the education construction sector with a string of contracts worth more than £6.6m.

We have added classroom extensions at Meole Brace Junior School in Shrewsbury (£370k); Hadnall Primary School (£360k); Market Drayton Infants School (£360k); Market Drayton Junior School (£340k); and St Andrew’s Primary in Shifnal (£581k) to our education portfolio as a result of Shropshire Council’s latest spending surge to improve the school estate.

We are also delivering a major £1.6m extension and refurbishment project at Burton Borough School in Newport for Telford & Wrekin Council.

And recently completed are a £1.1m new build at Ysgol Gynradd in Carno, Mid Wales; a £258k contract for a new gate house at the Thomas Telford School; a £508K scheme including new classrooms at Underwood West Academy in Crewe (pictured); and a £1.2m sports barn at the Lawnswood Campus in Parkfields, Wolverhampton.

Managing Director Steven Owen said our experience in delivering education projects made Pave Aways a “go-to” contractor for schools.

“Our teams and supply chain contractors are used to working quickly and efficiently in learning environments which allows the day-to-day education to go on unhindered whilst new facilities are under construction.

“We also take an active role, particularly in infant, junior and primary schools, in engaging with pupils about the build and making donations in the form of sporting equipment.

“Our knowledge and skill, coupled with our commitment to the highest possible standard of construction and customer service, gives us a competitive edge and we look forward to building on this with further projects in the future.”

Steven added: “The investment in school infrastructure across the region is underpinning our sustained growth and education remains one of our strongest sectors.

“It is also a welcome boost for the economy as the majority of contractors and businesses in our supply chain are within a 25-radius of our sites.”

We have worked with private schools, universities, colleges, and local education authorities across the Midlands and Mid Wales in recent history. Previous clients include Concord College where we have completed 19 separate projects, Harper Adams University where we have carried out 20 builds, Wrekin College, Shrewsbury School, Shrewsbury Sixth Form, Kingsland Grange, Telford College, Shrewsbury College, Staffordshire University and the University of Wolverhampton.
