Virtual Meet the Buyer event for new Powys projects

Pave Aways is to host a virtual Meet the Buyer event for local businesses to learn more about opportunities for work on two new affordable housing schemes in Powys.

We are building 26 one-bedroom flats in Newtown and seven homes in Sarn for Powys County Council.

The £3.3m development in Newtown is on land adjacent to Newtown Bowling Club and will provide low-carbon accommodation. Work on the new flats was due to start last year but stalled after the main contractors Jistcourt Ltd went into administration.

We are also building four two-bedroomed bungalows, two two-bedroomed and one three-bedroomed houses in Sarn. The £1.3m development has been designed to Passivhaus certifications standards – the most energy efficient certification possible.

The virtual Meet the Buyer event will take place online from 9am to midday on Tuesday May 19. Contractors and traders that would like to know more about joining the Pave Aways supply chain for the projects should email info@paveaways.co.uk to book a 15-minute slot.

Managing Director Steven Owen said: “A Mid Wales based team will manage the schemes and we will utilise local suppliers as the building specification allows and sub contractors where possible.

“Ordinarily we would host a round table for any businesses that would like to work with us on these projects but in the current climate, an online event is the safest way forward.

“We would urge any business from decorators and electricians to tilers and builders merchants to get in touch. This is a valuable opportunity for businesses to become part of our supply chain in Mid Wales and could lead to more work in the future as well.”
