As term draws to a close, here’s an update on the build we’re working on at Harlescott Junior School in Shrewsbury.
There’s already been a lot of progress since we broke ground in February with lots more to come over the next few weeks. Roof cassettes will be going in on the first building and foundations for the next stage will be progressing early next week.
The £8.44m build will enable the Haughmond Federation to bring together two of its schools, Harlescott Junior and Sundorne Infants and nursery, onto one site.
The new provision includes a nursery setting, two nursery classrooms, four reception classrooms, eight classrooms for Key Stage 1, four classrooms for Key Stage 2, a pupil support hub, hall, kitchen, offices and meeting rooms.
The carbon neutral building will support Shropshire Council’s ambition to reduce its emissions to zero by 2030.
