Teeing up to support charity

Pave Aways has become the first gold sponsor of  a charity’s golf day to raise funds for therapy to help children with limited movement.

We have become the headline supporter of the event organised by The Movement Centre that offers its world exclusive Targeted Training programme to children who have limited movement at the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen, near Oswestry,

Youngsters from all over the UK travel to the centre to undergo the programme and then take their standing frame home to continue their work at home between appointments.

Doors reopened at the centre in the spring, and since then, staff have been working hard to get families back to the centre for treatment.

They have also pushed ahead with fundraising so they are able to support more families as the fundraising to celebrate the charity’s 25th anniversary year continues.

Steven Owen, Managing Director of Pave Aways, said: “We hugely appreciate the work that Targeted Training does for children across the country — and being based at one of the healthcare sites we have worked on numerous times over the years, and in our home town, it was an obvious decision to support the event in this way.”

Curtis Langley, Fundraising and Events Officer for The Movement Centre has been organising the golf day, that takes place at Oswestry Golf Club today.

“We are really overwhelmed with the support for this event, we have 15 teams registered and there is a real thirst for people to be back on the golf course and taking part in a charitable event.

“We are delighted that Pave Aways has agreed to take the gold sponsorship and support us in this way. Culina has taken the Silver and Lanyon Bowdler has taken the bronze, so we are now all full and ready to go!

“It’s been such a challenging year for the team at The Movement Centre, many of us having been furloughed for most of 2020, so we are all delighted to be back open helping families with treatment and out and about raising vital funds.

“We are so extremely thankful to Pave Aways, which has agreed to take on this sponsorship, which will now allow us to really raise some money from the golf day.

“We are really looking forward to working with Steven and his team, and hope that they enjoy the day as much as we have enjoyed organising it. All we need now is for this lovely weather to hold for another couple of weeks!”
