Pave Aways celebrates Powys business awards win

Leading regional construction company Pave Aways is celebrating new success – after scooping a top honour at the Powys Business Awards.

The Pave Aways team at the Powys Business AwardsThe company – with offices in Newtown, Wrexham and a base in Knockin – won the People Development Award at this year’s ceremony.

Pave Aways’ construction director Jamie Evans said he was delighted with the success, which comes as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary.

“There is nothing more important to us at Pave Aways than our people, so it is particularly gratifying to win this award.

“We are very proud of the investment we make in developing each member of our team and ensuring they have every opportunity to learn new skills and grow with us. It is very pleasing to have this recognised by independent judges.”

The award, sponsored by the NPTC Group of Colleges, was open to companies of all sizes and recognised the business which best demonstrated a commitment to people development which made a positive impact on its business success.

Jamie added: “We would like to pay tribute to all our fellow finalists at the awards night and congratulate all the winners. It was a superb event which shows the strength and dynamism of the whole business community across Powys.”

The win is the latest success for Pave Aways, which earlier this year won the award for best public or community building in the prestigious LABC Building Excellence Wales awards for Hafan Yr Afon at Newtown.

The project had already claimed the Building Project of the Year title at the Constructing Excellence Wales awards earlier in the year.

Pave Aways was also named SME of the Year at the Constructing Excellence Midlands awards this year.
