Staff honoured at Christmas party awards

Our people are Pave Aways’ single most important asset – and we were delighted to honour them at our annual Christmas party.

We handed out a string of awards at the event, held this year at The Darwin Community Centre.

Every single one of our staff makes such a difference to the work we do and as our long standing tradition we celebrated four outstanding colleagues with special honours.

Apprentice site manager Joe Harrison was named Trainee of the Year for the fantastic contribution he has made since joining us last January.

Joe has already been awarded an HNC (Higher National Certificate) in construction and the built environment as part of the construction site supervisor (Level 4) apprenticeship that he is studying for part-time at the Shrewsbury Colleges Group.

Our Employee of the Year award went to our brilliant marketing co-ordinator Sarah Jones.  Sarah joined us in May 2022 and has made a huge impact on the business, using her experience gained completing a master’s degree in environmental and business management at Bangor University to build the Pave Aways brand and spread the word about all our work.

The Neil Holding Memorial Award – made to an employee who always goes above and beyond and whose support the directors find invaluable – went to our buyer Rob Keyland. Rob has been with us for 13 years and is an absolutely invaluable member of the Pave Aways family.

And finally our Colleague of the Year Award, voted by all employees, went to our reception and admin assistant Kelly Swannick for everything she does to keep Pave Aways running so smoothly and providing the perfect welcome to clients and visitors at our Knockin HQ.

Managing director Steven Owen said: “It was a huge pleasure to make these awards and recognise the special contribution all the winners have made to another highly successful year.

“But every single member of staff can share in this success because of the energy, pride, passion and commitment they all bring to work every day of the week. They really are all winners and my fellow directors and I could not be more proud of every one of them.

“I know that they will join me in wishing all our clients, trade partners, suppliers, and every member of the communities we work for and with a very Merry Christmas and peaceful, prosperous New Year.”
