Our BIG Charity Challenge!

The Pave Aways team are gearing up to tackle the entire Offa’s Dyke trail, stretching a whopping 177 miles from the picturesque coastal town of Prestatyn in the North, all the way down to the stunning Sedbury Cliffs near Chepstow in the South – in just 4.5 days!

This BIG challenge is all in aid of our fantastic Charity of the Year – the West Mercia Search & Rescue.

Sadly, we’ve all heard those awful stories about someone tragically losing their life to the river, leaving an enormous impact on families and surrounding communities. The brave volunteer rescuers of West Mercia Search & Rescue are often called out by emergency services to aid their operation. They are always ready to jump to action when someone is in need, whether that is on top of mountains or in raging rivers. Covering a vast area in the West Midlands and beyond, this life-saving service is an invaluable asset to the communities in which we live and work.

Dividing the route in half, our north team and our south team will push themselves to the limit, battling rugged terrain, unpredictable weather, and fatigue as they march towards the finish line at the halfway point in Knighton. In total, the teams will face a gruelling total ascent of over 28,000 feet along the way – that’s more than Mount Everest!

We would like to thank our generous sponsors: Hatfields Shrewsbury for lending us two top-of-the-range vehicles for our cross-country pursuit, which will provide great support for the walking teams and fantastic visibility for our challenge. Fellow Powys Business Award winners, Radnor Hills have kindly offered to hydrate our teams throughout the challenge with locally sourced spring water, just a stone’s throw from our finish line in Knighton.

Support us on this challenge, and you can be sure that 100% of your donation will go to help fund vital future missions for West Mercia Search & Rescue. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference in supporting the incredible work of our chosen charity of the year: https://www.totalgiving.co.uk/mypage/pave-aways-offas-dyke.

We are very proud to have raised over £2,500 for the fantastic West Mercia Search & Rescue! Thank you to each an every supporter, your donations will go to help fund their operations, training, and specialist equipment.
