Pave Aways is once again lending its support to the Shropshire Chamber Business Awards as headline sponsor of this year’s Community Champion award!
The awards, hosted by Shropshire Chamber, are open to all businesses with a base in Shropshire or Telford & Wrekin.
As previous winners of the Company of the Year, Education and Training, and Community Champion awards, we know what winning a Shropshire Business Award means to a business and its team.
This year, the Community Champion category was decided by a panel of judges, including our finance director Charlotte Davies who presented the award on Friday 21st June, and honoured a business that exemplifies a strong commitment to giving back to the Shropshire community. The criteria for this award include:
- Top-to-bottom ‘buy-in’ from staff at all levels, over and above statutory requirements
- Examples of projects which have made a real difference to local people’s lives
- Promoting the value of community work through company vision and values
- Supporting Shropshire suppliers by ‘buying local’
- Fostering links with schools, colleges and community groups
Managing director Steven Owen said: “Our win in the Community Champion category last year highlights Pave Aways’ commitment to better the communities in which we operate. We are committed to supporting local projects and believe it’s essential to recognise and celebrate other business who go above and beyond. Congratulations to all at the Learning Community Trust!”
We have always been devoted to supporting local communities through local employment of local talent, using local suppliers and sub-contractors, and fostering a connection with schools and colleges – as well as backing a variety of community initiatives. We continue to champion the communities that surround us, reinforcing the values that have defined Pave Aways for over half a century.
