Sporting spirit for cancer support

The ‘Trefy Panthers’ Touch Rugby Tournament in Knighton brought the community together for a day of healthy competition with a tournament to raise funds for the ‘BeMoreFrank’ charity – and Pave Aways was proud to be the main sponsor in the event.

Our team swapped their hard hats for pink shirts and rugby boots on Saturday. Despite not lifting the winning trophy, the biggest win of the day was supporting the incredible charity set up in memory of Frank that provides financial support to families with a child diagnosed with cancer across Herefordshire, Powys, Monmouthshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Ceredigion.

Having a child with cancer is unimaginably challenging in every way, including financially. The ‘Be More Frank’ fund helps to ease that burden by offering direct financial assistance to families during their darkest times, allowing them to focus on what truly matters.

Frank’s legacy lives on through the charity’s inspiring message: be braver, be kinder, be yourself… Be More Frank. His humour and zest for life continue to guide the work that makes such a difference to local families.

At Pave Aways, we are committed to giving back to causes that make a real difference. Our main charity of the year is Lingen Davies Cancer Fund, which supports people impacted by cancer across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales. Through funding treatment, equipment, and essential services, they ensure that cancer patients and their families can access the care, resources and support they need, both now and for the future.

We were delighted to support the rugby tournament for Be More Frank, alongside our ongoing fundraising for Lingen Davies – both charities that provide vital help for people and families facing cancer in our region.
