The Pave Aways team are celebrating our latest milestone of achieving the Investors in People (IIP) Gold accreditation, recognising our commitment to leading, supporting, and developing our people.
After achieving the Standard level accreditation in 2022, we’ve now leapt straight to Gold, skipping Silver – a reflection of how our people processes have surpassed the ‘established’ stage and are a shining example of ‘advanced’ level principles in people management. Gold is awarded to organisations that consistently embed best practice across leadership, culture, and employee development.
This achievement places Pave Aways among the highest-performing construction employers in the UK.
The assessment process was thorough, with an in-depth evaluation of our approach to supporting our team, our leadership and values, and skills development. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and the report said it best: “People said that Pave Aways is a great company to work for.”
Our results speak for themselves. Pave Aways scored 48 points above other IIP-accredited organisations in the construction sector, a reflection of the culture we’ve built together and the consistent dedication of our team.
Investing in our people is also an investment in the communities where we work. With over 60 directly employed staff and a strong apprentice programme, we take on at least four apprentices each year, helping to develop skills, create opportunities, and tackle the construction skills gap in Shropshire and beyond. We’ve also recently introduced PayCare for all in our team, giving everyone access to enhanced health and wellbeing support, further reinforcing our commitment to our team.
Our teams deliver high-quality projects across education, healthcare, commercial and community sectors. Every project benefits from the experience, commitment, and professionalism of our people. And it’s our SITES values – Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, and Sustainability – that guide how we operate, on site and beyond, shaping the way we work with clients, communities, and each other.
The golden plaque made its way around our sites last week, from the residential development in Llay, Wrexham, to The Orbit in the centre of Wellington, we’re all reminded of what makes Pave Aways special – our people, our values, and the culture we’ve built together.
